Automatica 2025: come and discover the concrete solutions you can count on to win the challenges of the future

Come to Automatica 2025 to discover the concrete solutions we can offer you to overcome the current and future challenges of automation and assembly.

It's well-known: increasingly demanding markets (in terms of production personalization, fast-paced rhythms, rapidly advancing technological innovations impacting how we live and work) and unstable macroeconomic situations (due to conflicts, geopolitical issues, etc.) present manufacturing companies with ever-greater challenges regarding production performance, flexibility, and overall competitiveness. These challenges must be met while ensuring sustainability in every aspect: environmental, social, and economic. To complicate matters further, there are the well-known difficulties in finding the technical skills needed to manage production plants. The situation is therefore very complex and brings with it numerous problems, both for plant manufacturers like Cosberg and for manufacturing companies that rely on these plants for their competitiveness.

To offer its clients concrete and winning answers to current scenarios, Cosberg brings forth various solutions, all resulting from a multi-step roadmap that leverages over forty years of experience gained across various industrial sectors (from furniture hardware to the electromechanical industry, to automotive) and in every corner of the world (Europe, India, China, the United States, South America). Beyond the transversal skills derived from the wide variety of objects assembled over time, it brings to the table the lateral thinking that has always distinguished it, as well as the propensity to anticipate trends: characteristics that have led it to overturn its perspective and consider new business models, including rental, which represents a significant challenge considering that it creates custom solutions.

At Automatica, we will be present with a newly conceived system that incorporates various technological innovations. It's a machine with a compact design, equipped with an efficient pallet transport system via linear electric motors that offers significantly higher productivity levels compared to those achievable with traditional belt systems.

Specifically, in cases where it can be applied, this solution guarantees:

  • Higher pallet speed (leading to high volumes)
  • Greater flexibility and reconfigurability (meaning the ability to quickly adapt the system to new production needs)
  • Higher precision (total control of each phase through electric motors)

The machine is also equipped with the XR Operator Advisor system, software designed for Schneider Electric's extended reality. This system offers practical support to operators by providing instructions and displaying data through augmented, virtual, and mixed reality. It allows for visualizing, interacting with, informing, training, and empowering personnel, contributing to improved safety and operational efficiency.

In addition, we will present software solutions developed in collaboration with Miraitek (a company within the Group and a spin-off of Politecnico di Milano, which designs, develops, and commercializes innovative IT systems for the connection, monitoring, control, and maintenance of capital goods). These solutions are designed to monitor, reconfigure, and manage plants, such as the Consumption and Performance Monitoring systems (Cosberg4Machine), Smart Edge (a system that allows parametrization and configuration of the entire process through a truly user-friendly interface that does not use PLC), and Berg (software still in the refinement phase that, with the aid of Generative AI, offers interactive guided operation and suggests solutions in case of anomalies).

The common objectives of all presented solutions are: to make systems increasingly efficient (by reducing set-up and production changeover times and integrating technologies that can promote speed and precision), flexible (easily adaptable), reconfigurable, reliable, as autonomous as possible – meaning manageable even by non-specialized personnel (while also protecting know-how, which is stored within the machine and not solely entrusted to people) – and sustainable (through consumption monitoring, detection of potential pneumatic leaks, and the possibility of converting the plant by reusing a significant portion of its modules).

In summary, Cosberg proves to be the right partner to develop – together with the client – effective solutions for automation and assembly (customized modules, equipment, and machines) integrated with systems and services for optimizing related processes (monitoring, traceability, revamping, logistics). It offers, in addition to 43 years of experience, a 360º approach and consulting aimed at increasing the competitiveness of manufacturing companies.
